2022 Irving Oil Spring Turnaround
Overtime Provision
Updated Feb 25th, 2022
Irving Oil will be adjusting the short-term maintenance rates during the 2022 Spring Turnaround for work performed on Saturdays, from time and one half (1½x) to double-time (2x) (the “Short-Term Rate Adjustment”).
This is a temporary adjustment that will only apply to work performed for the 2022 Spring Turnaround, Capital Projects integrated into the 2022 Spring Turnaround (the “Capital Projects”), and Major Outage Projects that will be executed during the 2022 Spring Turnaround (the “Major Outage Projects”).
For clarity, the short-term maintenance rates during the 2022 Spring Turnaround are as follows:
• All overtime worked will be paid at the rate of time and one half (1½x) Monday to Friday. Double-time (2x) will be paid after twelve (12) hours Monday to Friday.
• All time worked on Saturdays, Sundays, and Statutory Holidays will be paid at the rate of double-time (2x).
The Short-Term Rate Adjustment will only be paid when the blinds / safing blanks are installed up until the blinds / safing blanks are removed, for the 2022 Spring Turnaround. Once the blinds / safing blanks are removed, all employees return to long-term maintenance rates. The Short-Term Rate Adjustment will not apply to any work that occurs outside of the 2022 Spring Turnaround in relation to Capital Projects and/or Major Outage Projects. If a Capital Project or Major Outage Project begins
before the start of the 2022 Spring Turnaround or ends after the 2022 Spring Turnaround has been finalized, long-term maintenance rates will apply for the work performed before and after the 2022 Spring Turnaround. The Short-Term Rate Adjustment applies only to the 2022 Spring Turnaround, Capital Projects, and Major Outage Projects, as described above, and shall not constitute precedent for future short-term work.
